Awning and casement window systems are WERS rated, providing verified U-value and Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) data for use in NCC energy compliance calculations and thermal modelling.

Key energy performance factors for specification:

U-value — measures the rate of heat transfer through the window assembly; lower values indicate better thermal insulation
SHGC — measures solar heat gain through the glazing; selection depends on climate zone, orientation and shading strategy
Glazing selection — performance outcomes vary significantly with glass type; double glazing, low-e coatings and laminated options are available across the range
ThermalHEART series — thermally broken aluminium frames reduce heat transfer at the frame, improving overall window U-values for projects with elevated energy performance requirements

Frequently Asked Questions

Awning windows are hinged at the top and open outward from the bottom, providing ventilation while offering protection from rain. Casement windows are hinged on the side and open outward like a door, maximising ventilation when open. Both are available across the same series range and can be combined within a single facade.

The Architectural and Commercial Series are most commonly specified for commercial applications, offering tested performance levels, larger glazing capacities and a range of hardware options suited to commercial use. Series selection depends on performance requirements, glazing needs and project budget.

The Architectural Series carries BAL-40 certification, making it suitable for use in designated bushfire-prone areas up to that rating. Specific BAL requirements should be confirmed against the project’s site assessment.

Single and double glazing is available across most series, with maximum glass thicknesses varying by product. Low-e coatings, laminated glass and acoustic glazing options can be selected to meet thermal, safety or acoustic performance requirements.
