Hinged door systems are the most widely used door type across commercial and institutional construction — reliable, straightforward in operation and suited to a broad range of opening sizes and usage conditions. Single and double leaf configurations are available, with swing direction, hardware selection and glazing specification all configurable to suit project requirements. Hinged systems are commonly specified for building entries, fire egress points, office and amenity access, and architectural home entries where a traditional swinging door configuration is required. Energy Performance & Thermal Ratings

Hinged door systems are WERS rated where applicable, providing verified U-value and Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) data for use in NCC energy compliance calculations and thermal modelling.

Key energy performance factors for specification:

  • U-value — measures the rate of heat transfer through the door assembly; lower values indicate better thermal insulation; particularly relevant for entry doors on thermally conditioned buildings
  • SHGC — measures solar heat gain through the glazing; relevant for glazed entry doors on north and west-facing facades where solar exposure is significant
  • Glazing selection — single and double glazing options are available across the range; low-e coatings and laminated glass can be specified to meet thermal, safety or acoustic requirements
  • ThermalHEART series — thermally broken frames improve overall system U-values for projects with elevated energy performance requirements
